Location: Chennai / Pune (Onsite) Type: Full-time Experience: 3–6 Years Role Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Java Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you won't just be "testing" software; you will be building the systems that ensure our platforms are robust, scalable, and high-performing. You will take ownership of the automation lifecycle—from designing custom frameworks to integrating quality gates into our DevOps pipelines. Key Responsibilities Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks from scratch using Java and Selenium WebDriver (or Playwright). API Automation: Build and execute comprehensive API test suites using RestAssured or Karate, ensuring backend service reliability. Performance & Database: Perform backend validation by writing complex SQL queries and conducting basic performance tests (JMeter/K6). CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated suites into Jenkins or GitHub Actions pipelines to support a "Shift-Left" testing culture. Collaborative Quality: Work closely with developers in an Agile/Scrum environment to identify edge cases during the design phase, not just after deployment. Maintenance: Optimize existing test scripts to reduce execution time and eliminate "flaky" tests. Technical Requirements Core Java: Strong proficiency in Java (8 or above), with a deep understanding of OOPS concepts, Collections, and Exception Handling. Automation Tools: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Selenium and Cucumber (BDD). Build Tools: Experience with Maven or Gradle for dependency management. Version Control: Expert knowledge of Git (branching, merging, pull requests). Testing Patterns: Solid understanding of Page Object Model (POM) and Data-Driven testing patterns. Soft Skills: Critical thinking and the ability to articulate risk to stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Docker for containerized test execution. Exposure to Mobile Automation (Appium) or Cloud testing platforms (BrowserStack/SauceLabs). ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus.
